March 2010

Rainmeter is similar to Window’s Gadgets, Macintosh’s Widgets and Google Desktop in that way that you can add stuff to your Windows desktop. Stuff like a clock, RSS-readers, system information, calendar, weather information, e-mails, etc. There are more ways to customize your desktop with Rainmeter than it is with the applications I mentioned above, and there is a huge amount of whole suits and small apps that you can download to extend Rainmeter.

I recommend you all to download and try out this application. It adds so much to your desktop and many of the available suits looks really cool. The only downside is that if you have a lot of stuff in Rainmeter that refreshes very often, it can consume a lot of CPU-power. (Links just below the images)

Fission

With Fission you can add extra functionality to your address bar in Firefox. You can either transform the address field to a progress bar and show the progress behind the address, or you can add a progress bar to the right of the address.

It is also possible to show connection status at the right of the address bar, which tells you what currently is loading on the website, like if you are watching a streamed video.

I recommend this add-on because it adds extra functionality( to your already awesome web browser), and it looks really good.
